Guest Room Registration
You must register separately for your hotel room and then for the convention.
Hotel rooms in the BLET block may be reserved online, or via telephone directly through the hotel. In order to ensure you will be able to reserve a sleeping room at the
convention rate, please make your reservation no later than Friday, August 31, 2018. When you make your reservation you will be charged a one night’s deposit, plus tax,
at the BLET rate ($99 per night). Once the reservation deadline passes, the hotel will release unassigned rooms in the BLET block to other individuals and groups.
Register early to be sure you are included in the BLET block at BLET rates!
You have two (2) options to reserve your hotel room:
- Click here to make your hotel reservation online. Make your entries as prompted, and if asked for the group code use
SRBLE8. You will need a credit card to complete registration online, and your account will be charged for the first night’s room and tax.
- Call the hotel at (888) 746-6955 and reserve your room over the phone. Tell the agent you are with the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and Trainmen, and reference group
SRBLE8. That will get you into the BLET room block at the convention rate. You will need to either give the agent your
credit card information or send the hotel a check for your first night’s room and tax in order to complete registration by phone.
The Rio allows you to cancel your guest room reservation without penalty up to seventy-two (72) hours prior to your scheduled arrival date, and a late cancellation or
failure to check-in on the scheduled arrival date will result in you being charged the one (1) night guarantee paid when you made your reservation. Also, any remaining
nights of a no-show reservation will be canceled. If you paid your reservation guarantee by check, you should know that it is the Rio’s policy to require a
credit card or cash deposit for incidental charges. The hotel accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and Diners Club cards.
Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. local time and check-out time is 11:00 a.m. Any departures after 11:00 a.m. are subject to the full day charge. If you arrive at the hotel before
check-in time, you can place your luggage in storage until check-in time begins.
The National Division will provide your division with a credential delivered via U.S. mail, which must be signed by your division president
and secretary-treasurer and returned to the ND before the convention begins. It would be wise to check with your officers periodically to make
sure that they fulfill this obligation in a timely manner.
Registration for the convention will take place in Miranda Rooms 1–4. Registration hours are:
- Sunday, September 30, from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., and
- Monday, October 1, from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon.
You will need to present a driver’s license or other photo ID to register as a convention delegate.
